The SUNY State College of Optometry offers students an outstanding and world renowned optometric education and clinical experience in one of the most vibrant cities in the world. SUNY Optometry houses the University Eye Center, which services 75,000+ patients annually, one of the largest in-house vision care clinics in the country. A great diversity of visual/ocular problems is seen in the clinic. And, as a result of the large clinic, small class size, and diversified patient population, students obtain a rich and comprehensive educational experience.
The College has nationally and internationally recognized faculty engaged in cutting-edge basic, translational, and clinical vision science research. The College offers a PhD program, as well as OD/MS and OD/PhD joint degree programs. The joint OD/MS program allows students to finish both degrees within four years without paying any additional tuition for the MS porition of the degree.
The College is located in a beautiful and safe neighborhood of Manhattan, across from Bryant Park, where students feel comfortable and have easy access to all forms of public transportation.
SUNY Optometry is committed to academic excellence, improving patients' lives, enhancing public health through education, and advancing the field of vision science.
